Total renovation of an existing landmark quality 10-story structure, the Chemists’ Club, and a six-story addition to create a new, 108-key boutique hotel in Midtown Manhattan. This total renovation project transformed a historic 10-story structure into a modern 16-story marvel. Maintaining a balance of past and present, historical elements like the marble staircase and plaster columns were carefully restored while a glass and aluminum curtain wall overbuild was added. The renovation featured state-of-the-art elevators, a vibrant 200-person restaurant/bar, and a fully-equipped conference center. The exterior limestone and brick façade was fully restored, and new HVAC, sprinklers, fire safety, and mechanical systems were integrated.
